Finally, tickets are booked. Its been a long road to this point! We were planning on India for a month or two and then hopping from Kolkata to Bangkok to start the South East Asia tour. India is a nightmare when it comes to visa's though, and what with it being the Christmas period, we didn't really fancy posting our passports to the Indian Embassy and not getting them back in time for the flights! So we decided to spend all our time in South East Asia, flying out on the 11th of January and back on the 10th of June, in and out of Bangkok. That way we don't need to make any plans, visas are all 'on entry' except for Vietnam, and we can plan as we go. We are pretty excited!
Bit of an update, I have discovered Air Asia!!! They must be the easy jet equivalent and unbelievably cheap. £19 for a flight from Bali to Darwin!!!!!!! My Australian visa was 10 minutes to apply for online and granted within 30 minutes. The Indian tourist board could learn a lot!
